This blog tells the story of how I got here, what I’m doing here, and where I’m going next.

No longer content with pretty pictures and witty captions being the legacy found in my digital footprint, this blog is now my love letter to you, my darling readers. 

I started LARK+LACE back in 2012. Back then, it was mostly a diary of sorts, where I often shared vignettes from everyday life, random thoughts, vegan recipes, and outfits that I cringe to think about now. It's existed in a few different iterations and slowly evolved into what it is today. A place for me— a not-quite-plus-sized, raven-haired, business-minded lady— to do what I do best: share my gift of story with the world.

It was tough growing up with no one who was "shaped like me" to look up to. When I was diagnosed with bipolar, I often wondered if I could ever be "normal." (Based on how the illness is depicted on TV and in movies.) The world is a scary place when you feel like you're going through it alone so I want my little slice of internet to be a little slice of everything I always wanted to see myself.

I'm all grown up. I've got a career and while I'm far from settling down, I've got a better idea of who I am now than I ever have. In order to make it to the next step in my life, the blog had to grow with me, so here it is. If you've been following along for a while, thanks for sticking around. I can't wait to share this new chapter of my life with you. If you're just joining me, I'm honored to have you.
