Plaid Pants & Pink Denim

I ventured outside of my comfort zone last weekend and did something I don't think I've done since 2003: I wore capris. In my defense, they weren't supposed to be capris. They looked a lot "better" on the Zara model. And by "better," I mean the model didn't have thick thighs so they were a little baggier. I sized up and hoped for the best.

When the box arrived in the mail, I excitedly ran upstairs to try the pants on. Just what I needed! Cute work pants! Let's just say they looked NOTHING like I'd hoped. Tight, short, and low-cut. (Helloooo love handles.) I couldn't get them off of me soon enough and as I defeatedly folded them and made a plan to leave for work early the next day to stop at Zara and return them, I decided to try wearing them with a simple white shirt and some cute granny heels. I loved it.

Lesson learned? I'm not a 6ft tall, size 2 model. But I can sure put an outfit together that I'd like. Now, this is where I would normally make a note of everything I'm wearing so that you can find the pieces to replicate the look and I can maybe make a few cents off of the affiliate links. Basically everything is sold out and this is a busy week— I don't have the time to look all around the internet for lookalikes. (I will note, however, that this glorious pink denim jacket was a gift from G-Star RAW and I'm very upset that this cold weather is keeping me from wearing it as much as I would like.)

What do you think? I guess an Easter dress would be more springlike but... this works.
