Cherry Blossoms & Flutter Sleeves
Thank you River Island for sponsoring this post!
Spring has few redeeming qualities for me: I get bad allergies, S.A.D. seems to always get me when the weather starts getting better (WHY?), and I'm never quite ready to say goodbye to my winter coats. Of course, I do love springtime, but it takes a little extra convincing. I enjoy staying home and cooking, cleaning, reading, or watching TV with the windows open but why would I venture out to a place where there are BEES? Without fail though, cherry blossoms get me out of the house.
I love these beauties. Their ephemeral existence makes them that much more beautiful. Their brief presence makes it worthwhile to venture out and see them while they last. A few weekends ago, I headed out to one of the quaintest streets in Philadelphia— Quince Street, often called one of this city's most beautiful alleys— to pose amongst their fleeting petals.
I love crisp white tops and blue jeans for spring. It's just a great, fresh, understated look. I can often be found wearing skinny jeans and a plain white tee but for this particular day, special blooms requite special getup. While in any other outfit, a white button-up could be seen as necessity, just a backdrop to let the accessories shine, these oversized flutter sleeves made this River Island blouse the star of the show. (Get it here.)
Who new a white blouse could be so daring? I found a few of my other favorite white statement tops that would be perfect for springtime. Which is your favorite?
