Mirror & Check

This look blends together some elements that I've traditionally shied away from: mirrored sunglasses, trousers that aren't high-waisted, and a relatively large bag. Who am I?

I must say, this (very much so) "treat-yo-self" tee makes me feel instantly chic whenever I put it on. It's been getting a lot of wear, which is alright because it's goes with just about anything and is an easy way to make a statement without looking too ridiculous. Plus, who's going to disagree with its "no smoking" message? I kept the rest of this look simple but still kind of playful. I paired the tee with some checkered trousers (last seen here) that I'm still kind of terrified of wearing because they're not the most flattering. My body type is best suited for high-waisted silhouettes and these kind of cut me off right where my "problem areas" begin but they're cute so I'll just shrug it off.

Because the pants and the graphic tee are kind of bold in their own way, I kept the accessories minimal and the shoes non-offensive. Just some white Vans, a silver bracelet, and my work bag. Though this bag is a bit larger than I'm used to carrying, it perfectly fits my MacBook Air and work notebooks along with my camera and various items I need to get through the day so I've been carrying it around even after work. (Computer and all... which I should probably not do.) An added bonus is that I've figured out a Tetris-like formation that allows me to fit all of that PLUS leaves some extra space for a bagel, which I can pick up on my way to work and fits snugly without getting smushed. Attempting to be a successful adult has taught me a lot about balance.

Aside from that drawn-out explanation of my outfit, I don't have much else to say today. It's been a long, exhausting, exciting week. Here's to hoping I get all of my work done before the end of the day on Friday so I can have a stress-free weekend including a trip to the beach! (A girl can dream...)
