The Sound of Spring

What does spring mean to me? Flowers, beach trips, allergies, cold brew— just to name a few things. Some see spring as a fresh start, with flowers popping up out of the nothingness and whatnot. My relationship with this season isn't so cut-and-dried though. It's complicated. I've found that, for me, new beginnings often give way to nostalgia. At first, this was a seemingly disastrous development. Who wants to be bogged down by nostalgia when they're still trying to stay on top of their New Year's resolutions? I've learned this though: when both are indulged, perfect balance is (somehow) achieved. The secret to making this happen? Lean into it, of course. And how, you may ask? Music is a good place to start.

I don't know about you but nothing brings on the feels quite like certain songs can. In fact, there's a growing list of music I won't allow myself to listen to after a certain time of the night. It's a powerful force, no? I haven't included any of those on this playlist: just a good mix of old and new. Pleasant-sounding melodies, silvery vocals, and enthralling instrumentals. Listen while cooped up at the office, unwinding with a bath, enjoying the freedom of the open road on a trip somewhere nice, or, my personal favorite, while sautéing some veggies for dinner. (Bonus points if the windows are open.)

Here's to what's quickly becoming my favorite season! (Yes, even with those pesky allergies.)
